Bolton Valley is closed for the season.
It’s hard to put a bow on a season like this, but let's take a whack at it.
It all started back in November with the first annual Ullr Fest, and honestly, that’s what really set the tone for everything that followed. It was hilarious, a little nuts in the best way, and brought everyone together to kick things off with the kind of energy that followed through the entire season. From there, we rolled straight into opening a full week early, and just like that, the stoke was at an all-time high. You could feel it from day one, and it never really let up. And once again, we crossed the 300 inch mark for snow on the season. That never gets old.
Through the holiday stretch, the mountain felt like a full-on snowglobe. New faces, returning families, packed slopes, and that holiday spirit you only get to feel during that time of year. Santa Sunday brought the holiday spirit in full force, and New Year’s Eve delivered in a magical way with fireworks lighting up the whole valley and what we’re pretty sure was the biggest torchlight parade we’ve seen in years, thanks to a seriously fired-up crew. From there, the season just kept stacking moments. The Tuesday night skimo crew kept growing and pushing the pace, the return of the Night Riders series brought a ton of energy back to the hill, and events like USASA, Vertical Challenge, Blauvelt’s Banks, and Pond Skim kept the calendar full and the vibes high. And speaking of Pond Skim… that might’ve been the best one yet. The new location absolutely worked, the energy was next level, and it's turning into something really special.
Vermont Adaptive continues to be a cornerstone of what we do, Unlikely Riders continues to grow and introduce new people to the sport, Corporate Race League brought the friendly competition week after week (thanks Sooz), and between live music in Fireside, trivia nights, pickleball league, pizza, private buyouts up at Timberline, and yes… endless riceballs from the Miso Hut… it really felt like there was always something happening. We also saw a lot of Indy Pass visitation this year, and it’s always a good feeling to be part of that movement. Opening the doors to new skiers and riders who are searching for something real, something independent... that’s what it’s all about.
We had the Alpine Shop Demo Day loaded with endless skis, boards, and waffles, and our Ski & Ride School absolutely crushed it, teaching a record number of lessons this season. Huge shoutout to that crew for getting more people sliding and loving the sport than ever before. The Kid of the Week videos took off in a big way this year, and it was pretty special getting to highlight the next generation of little rippers who are already shredding harder than a lot of us. What else? The halfpipe! Thanks Tyler.
And then there are the moments you can’t plan. That one day the access road closed for a bit and the entire place turned into this accidental party… and yeah… the guy snowboarding down the road. We couldn’t reshare it on social media for obvious reasons, but we all saw it, and it was iconic.
To our guests, thank you. Whether you were here every week, lapping under the lights after work, or visiting us for the first time, you’re what makes this place what it is. You showed up through powder days, spring slush, cold snaps, wind holds, and everything in between, and brought the kind of love that keeps this mountain alive. We don’t take that for granted.
And to our team, there truly aren’t enough thank yous. Patrol, Mountain Ops, Lift Ops, Groomers, Snowmaking, Guest Services, Ski & Ride School, Rentals, Retail, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Finance, HR ;), and our Hotel crew… along with our incredible international staff who worked their butts off all season long while sharing pieces of their home and culture with all of us… this season doesn’t happen without you. Early mornings, late nights, long storms, tough calls, and all the behind-the-scenes work that no one sees but everyone feels. The product on the hill, the events, the experience from first to last chair, it all comes back to your effort and dedication.
Over 300 inches of snow. Countless powder days. A whole lot of memories. We’re lucky to do this, and even luckier to do it with this community. Thanks for being part of it. We’ll see you out there again soon. We love you.
